I agree. That mall is on it's last legs, and with transit it's so easy for anyone in the area to get to Rideau. Redevelop the land into a small community.

Let's hope phase 2 is a little more exciting.

I'm pretty sure the next phase of this one (the 2 high rise towers that will be next to the highway) is supposed to have a grocery store.

Living near this area, I must say I was shocked when I drove by and saw the red lettering. What were they thinking?

There are hundreds of think pieces currently on social media why Ontario isn't building housing fast enough, and then a perfectly good and proportional project like this is just hanging in the balance for years. Make it make sense.

Well, fingers crossed the Otrain eventually extends to Terry Fox. With those 30 floor towers planned towards the highway in this area, that isn't our of the realm of possibility. Wouldn't be a bad walk from this development to the Otrain.

My opinion is, develop both!

Is the car wash/gas station next door eventually supposed to be developed as well? It's going to be surrounded by residential, seems kind of like the perfect place for a new tower.

Honestly, it could have been much worse and brings much needed housing to the area. As someone else mentioned, there will be so many other towers going up in that area in the coming years, it could be a good contract to those.

Nice to see this one now well on it's way. Can't wait to see it rise!

There is actually one directly across the street from this building. There is a 2 apt building complex, with a large 2 story parking garage next to them AND a ton of surface parking. You can actually see the parking structure in some of the photos above. Definitely a prime candidate to...
