Personally I think it looks great - a marquee and additional lightening should help liven up that section of Rideau. Good riddance to the faux historic stucco facade. The northwest corner looks like it’s going to be a dead zone, which isn’t ideal but hard to see how it wouldn’t have been given the shape of the building and stage placement.

Assumed something like this was coming once LiveNation was announced as a partner but nonetheless, this is great news. Will contribute to the activity downtown. Being so close to the LRT is a big plus too.

The layout shown in the renders here reminds me a lot of the M-Telus Centre in Montreal. This will be excellent for small to mid-size acts and I for one am very excited to see this coming to downtown.
I wonder if the stucco is a fake remake of the heritage facade or if the brick is still under there. Would have preferred restoration of the old face (if the brick is still there), but if not this is fine. although it has a back of a 70s warehouse feel. I'd prefer something more similar to the Sussex/George look. The marquee will be good though.
Overall, this venue is a fantastic addition to the ByWard Market and Rideau.

Didn't get any photos but as of a few days ago the whole Rideau facade was covered in scaffolding, so I assume they've properly begun reconstruction.

I have pretty big doubts that this site will reopen in 2026. They had scaffolding up along the side a few months back, but it doesn’t look like they’ve done anything to the wall and now the scaffolding along there is gone. Front has some work going on but otherwise it seems like the only thing that they’ve been able to work on
If you look in through the back windows, they have been doing some work on the inside. But very minimal and it looks like just a few beams
