Ahh yes, that very light blue. Dark Reader doesn't work on SSP, so my eyes are farrrrrrr happier here.SSP doesn't have dark mode, but the standard background is darker, so it's easier on the eyes.

I'm of the same mind for the most part. I do like Skyrise's image posting set-up. I kind of use it as an Imgur at this point; post a pic here first and then post it again on SSP. I also like the emojis as well to acknowledge someone's post without responding. Otherwise I prefer SSP tbh.Hi everyone. Just want to touch base on how we are feeling about the split community nowadays.
It seems that Skyrise is the more active building discussion forum, and Skyscraperpage is the more active 'everything else' discussion forum. I think it's because Skyrise is far easier to use and we like the easy image uploading and response emojis, which is great for posting building updates. Skyscraperpage is more conducive to text conversations perhaps, or maybe it's just that it has a lot of older members who are just used to it being the place for longer form discussions about various topics.
We should have a joint SRC/SSP meetup in the coming months to discuss what we want to do with this! My position is that I don't mind using both, I love the old school feel of SSP, and I love the more polished abilities of SRC for updates. I always check both at the same time. I also like some duplication in case one of the forums dies out of the blue. I would be devastated to lose either, but I don't want all our eggs in one basket when we don't know the future viability of either forum.
I'm worried that a lot of folks on SSP got turned off by using the wrong version of Skyrise and using the wrong search function. One of the little annoyances of Skyrise Ottawa is that you can access a broken version of the site at Skyrise Cities here https://skyrisecities.com/forum/forums/ottawa.71/ . Also, While the search function is amazing on the lower bar, the upper search function is bugged.I find it kind of annoying that we are split. There is also a gang over on the Rail Fans Discord as well. I wish I just had one spot to check rather than 3.
I strongly prefer Skyrise as it is just so much easier to post photos, react to messages, search, etc. We also haven't really taken advantage of the map feature but we should try to do that. It's so handy when to find a project when you saw it in passing but don't know any info about it.
I have stopped being active on SSP almost out of principle, as I thought we had more or less agreed to move over here.
I haven't really taken the time to even look at the map feature tbh. Lot of features we're missing out on, but we'd almost need someone to dedicate a week? A month? of working full time on it.I find it kind of annoying that we are split. There is also a gang over on the Rail Fans Discord as well. I wish I just had one spot to check rather than 3.

I have the ability to work on the map portion on the backend, but I have to be completely honest, it takes enough work and adds enough value that it should be a paid position. The owners of Skyrise are really dedicated and supportive, but they need a paid position to develop that aspect of the site.I haven't really taken the time to even look at the map feature tbh. True that. I hope we can get more discussions moved over to this side, and I hope we can get Rocketphish as our third mod.It takes a long time for a community to build somewhere. This site does seem to get more active month by month.
I much prefer this place not only for posting photos, but also because it’s actually readable on my phone while I’m commuting or whatever.
Agreed. They would be warmly welcomed over here!!True that. I hope we can get more discussions moved over to this side, and I hope we can get Rocketphish as our third mod.
