Pictures of Ottawa

I have never noticed this fascinating little church behind Soho Italia on Argyle until today.

Eglise CHRIST ROI. I would love to know more about it, but there is precious little online.

I was confused for a moment. I think you meant SoBa. Don't recall ever seeing it from that angle before.

For sure, interesting little church that seem a little lost on that site. Would be interesting to see the area before the ugly mid-rise was built next door (where I assume the rectory mentioned in the article above once was). Kind of hard to believe 1964 was 60 years ago.

Took some pics of Downtown yesterday morning and evening.

Little brick one on the left has an interesting history. It used to be a very nice three floor residential building, townhouses, built in 1898. There was a fire sometime between 56' and 62'. As a result, they removed the third floor, built the bump out additions and converted it to commercial. They'll demolish it soon and make a parkette with the site, with plans to eventually build a residential tower on site within the decade. (got all this from the Heritage Committee on December 9).
