Pretty sure this is a campaign violation. See how Sutcliffe stamped his name on the ByWard Market Action Plan.

Can someone think of (and list) a few of Sutcliffe's major accomplishments for Ottawa since he has taken over office?
It depends on your definition of "accomplishments".

He would list the police break room on Rideau as an accomplishment. It has never opened to the public and doesn't seem to have really done anything to reduce crime in the Market. Case an point, the recent stabbing a few steps from the police break room: https://www.ledroit.com/actualites/...e-rideau-a-ottawa-CMDC3KUKZBHA5OOX6JTFWTUI6I/

He would also list Lansdowne 2.0, even though it has been greatly value engineered from the Watson era proposal, much like the newly unveiled Byward Market plan.

Otherwise, the OC Transpo budget has gone up, but when you look at the numbers, inflation and such, budget has actually gone down. We can see that with the service and O-Train frequencies cut in half mid-day and weekends.

"Low" taxes would also be an accomplishment he would claim, but costs have gone up more than inflation on some other City services (water for example).

Everything Watson left him has either not advanced (Stage 3 of the O-Train) or been value engineered to a point where it may leave the project worse than it was before (imo Lansdowne 2.0).

He was on paper, but often voted the wrong way. I had high hopes when he was named to head the transit committee, but things have gotten far worse.
Agreed. He would say smart things or ask good questions, but when it came to voting he usually fell in line with all other suburban councillors.

The Sutcliffe bashing and/or fan club discussion is best discussed here.

Sutcliffe is bad, but could be far worse. He could have been a Clive Doucet level NIMBY, he could have killed all bike plans (Doug Ford is working on that), he could have removed bike infrastructure. He has been pretty good on affordable and social housing (though far from enough).

That said, Watson set him up well with the Market plan, Stage 3 and a better Lansdowne 2.0, all ready to go, and Sutcliffe dropped the ball. He's also been big on court challenges that the City was always going to lose. He's cut transit service significantly. He's been had a very pro car agenda. Some dealings seem somewhat suspect (potential conflicts of interest or straight up corruption) like the landfill site his campaign manager proposed the City buy. He's been the least transparent in a very long time, possibly ever.

When he was elected I thought he represented the maintenance of the status quo, which I think is still accurate, (and which I don't think is a good thing)
I thought he represented status quo, but I've perceived him as worse than status quo based on the inaction or watering down of those three major approved Watson projects.

I have a feeling the election is going to be very messy the reason comments i have seen the last week

Ottawa is the worse run city in North America

We should not be build so high

We should not build towers in the burbs

We must respect what the community wants
