Well...that's it for Westgate. The mall my Dad hung out at as a teenager (the only mall other than Carlingwood). I highly endorse SSP/SRC folks checking it out tomorrow, the last day before the teardown begins.
That whole 'West River' skyline will be fairly significant on it's own if built out as planned, even without new projects. Ottawa is creeping up on something amazing and unique in Canada with so many Transit Oriented Developments.
Wait a minute...didn't Orange Gallery get controversially booted from this building because District Realty had undisclosed plans for the property?! Now it's For Lease??
I'm really going to miss the epic Raymond Moriyama design of the North stands/Civic Centre. Such an iconic building. I might shed a tear when that starts coming down.
No signs of activity right now. They installed cladding on the side of the parking garage for Tower 1, so very doubtful we'll see Tower 2 move forward this year.
