CMHC just released a national housing design catalogue to help improve housing starts: https://www.housingcatalogue.cmhc-schl.gc.ca/
It has designs for stacked townhouses, duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, sixplexes and 'Accessory Dwelling Units'. There are different designs for different provinces/regions, I think they all look pretty good. Here are the designs for Ontario that could be built in Ottawa:
