The City of Ottawa plans to replace the aging combined sewers and watermains within James Street and Kent Street. All roadways will be fully reconstructed with new curbs, sidewalks and asphalt pavement. A new contraflow bicycle lane is proposed for the south side of James Street. The limits of this proposed project are highlighted in the below figure.

Awesome! These are the type of small projects that don't offend anyone. Contraflow cycling will be great through this part of Centretown.

Agreed, although I worry that small projects like this, which aren't particularly useful in terms of cross town travel, could prevent bike lanes from being justified on better routes like Gladstone.

Nice to see a raise crosswalk at the bank intersection, hopefully this becomes the norm on bank.
