The Revalie | 770 Brookfield | 7/18/27m | 2/6/9s | Campus Developments | Hobin

I'm sure it will attract a noticable contingent of Canada Post employees as well once they are cuffed and dragged back into work five days a week.
the parking garage at Confederation Heights is full nearly every day, so I’m not sure that the number of public servants in the area is an issue. I’ll also see groups of them walking around at noon on some days

unless the new development at Confederation Heights comes with some interesting commercial and/or community space, the neighbourhood will continue to be as quiet as it is now. I just don’t think that this development has had the “revitalization” effect on the neighborhood that some (including myself, as a resident) were hoping for

I wouldn't necessarily call this a "15 minute development". I've been living here since they first opened the complex, and I have to drive 20+ minutes just to get my groceries every week; the Aisle24 onsite is very insufficient, unless you want to eat pasta and beans every week. Their beverage selection is decent, and there's lots of snacks on offer, but for anything else you need a car (or just get a meal plan on campus). The rest of the retail onsite is fine, but you'll see more highschool students than actual post-secondary students on a daily basis. The Mezbaan gets more of an "adult" clientele, and the Popeyes is decently popular, but the rest is usually just busy with highschool students during lunch hour and at the end of the day.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I think that this development has benefited more the local highschool students, then it has the community near Mooney's Bay at large. A lot of residential units are still empty, as the complex is far from the more "active" neighborhoods along the Trillium Line and they've been drastically increasing their rents in recent years.

Do you know what retail will be part of phase 2?

If you check out the brochure for the commercial space (https://buildout.com/sharing/770-BROOKFIELD-ROAD-THE-REVALIE?file=2636817) it indicates that there will be a small pharmacy in one of the new spots. but otherwise the other commercial slots seem to be empty for the time being

they’ve been talking for years about having a coffee/cafe space, but I don’t think that any franchise has shown any interest in the idea yet. construction of the new development is only going to finish in late summer 2026, so they still have time to find new tenants; even if there’s not a lot of resident tenants or local residents from Mooney’s Bay that visit the site, there’s still a very large clientele that comes from the local highschool on weekdays. Not what I would consider a thriving community complex, but it keeps the already existing spots like Popeyes and Subways in business 🤷🏼‍♂️
