Is that why there is literally no info on the Andaz project lol I have no idea what it's going to look like. The one thing I do like about Andaz is it's one of the few buildings downtown that has a rooftop restaurant. I loved the abundance of them whenever I go back to South Asia and SEA. Wouldn't mind seeing some pop up here in Ottawa.
DevApps for Andaz finally came out in early September. They are building it, but I'm not sure it's actually been approved.

The residential tower on Georges was approved with the first Andaz tower about a decade ago. Based on the little bit shown in the new Andaz docs, the residential tower looks the same as what was approved back then: https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=203360&highlight=andaz

I agree, that roof top restaurant (along with the orangey/fake wood cladding and Andaz sign) is the only redeeming feature of the Andaz. It's really cool to have that restaurant space high up. I don't think we have any other restaurant like that in Ottawa. The Marriott had a revolving restaurant, but now it's just an event space. We do have other decent top level hotel event spaces that are for the most part publicly accessible.

Does anyone think this could be our new downtown?
I think 'Downtown' will soon be everything from King Edward to Bayview. A business district bookended by the Byward Market and Lebreton. The business district will remain the predominantly business oriented part of the new 'Greater Downtown', the Byward Market will be further relegated to 'Tourist Trap' status, and Lebreton will become the place where locals love to live and play.
