Brigil is always quite slow with project starts, but they get there eventually. Canevas was in the "any day now" phase for a few years.

Don't worry it will not "be another Sky". This is very much moving forward, infact there was recently an updated SPA submission (https://devapps.ottawa.ca/en/applications/D07-12-23-0067/details).
There is still more site remediation to complete here. Look for shoring work to start this fall to help complete the remediation.

I was just going to ask but yeah, I think Brigil has been clawing at their necks to get an iconic building up. This won't be a 900 Albert or Sky, funnily enough, we may see The Sky come up soon as Richcraft is getting closer and closer through their pipeline.
I drove by it the other day and saw some folks at the former Greyhound inside the fenced area. I think we're going to see shovels in the ground before the new year in my opinion.

Should be a nice little corner in the future with the two parks and hopefully some interesting coffee shops/restaurants in the development.

So Brigil is giving that lot tot the City? Any changes to the site plan for the actual project?
If this goes in 2026 along the tower by Lees that's U/C, the 24s tower by Bell St., and Minto's tower on the other side of the highway, we will have a nice start to the future Queensway skyline.

Not just that. There is also Artefact and.. the midrise at Louisa and Bell which now has a crane up for. Trying to find that thread as we speak. Snapped a photo earlier. It's at grade now.
Would love to see Pickering place spot get moving. Coventry rd as well. Need something to frame out the 417 east of the Rideau River. I figure that lazy tower at Blair and Montreal rd. will be plenty visible with the elevation despite not being in what you would consider the corridor. I also figure that 16?fl tower on Cryville should be starting up at some point in the near future when they run out of lumber for that massive wood frame 6fl.

As for Pickering Place there was a pro construction meeting last night so i think it will start very soon.

comparing the summary at committee and the site plan approval report, not significant ones other than parking it seems.
They went from 360 to 667 parking spaces, due to the parking expansion under the now private/public park.
Bike spots from 1164 to 1193, and units from 1,134 to 1,164. Still 100 affordable units.

If they get shovels in the ground within the next month or two, then I wouldn't have been so far off on breaking ground. Really excited to see this one go up!!!!!!
