Yes, the huge report document confirms there's an elevator at the Preston Plaza.
The courts are replacing this facility which disappeared in the development. It's a tennis club that ran for just over a century.

Oh. Well that's frickin awesome then. I'm an idiot and see now on page 1 of this that the DARA Tennis Club was explained by J.OT13. I'm a recent transplant from SSP but that doesn't excuse my lack of reading comprehension.
I think I got a little bit sidetracked at the notion of roof mounted pickleball courts with their alleged community disrupting noise rattling off the sea of marching towers. My minds eye works in mysterious ways.
The potential is there. Making squiggly sticks isn't really a reason to go there. It vexes me that the rooftop of Rideau Center is literally a no go zone where security will come up and kick you out. I think some type of children's play area added to all this and you have an elevated active use park which would be beyond a first for this city.
Just a place to sit isn't quite enough. Once again. Active Features. My inner deviant says that a skate/BMX park would be a massive hit.
Is it safe to assume the only washroom available here will be the customers of the supposed cafe that will operate on bankers hours?
PS. if you are looking for an open door public washrooms in the area... the back lower side of the Dows Lake pavilion is a spot. You gotta hug the docks on the right side and walk back around and you are gtg.

I think the park will be used a lot by staff and less-sick patients of the hospital. How many hospitals have access to a park at front door level with no adjacent roads, and views above an idyllic quasi-lake and arboretum. So I think a calm atmosphere is more likely.

Calm atmosphere. That's actually a great point I hadn't considered. So... no skate parks then.
I had thought of a viewing binoculars or something of the sort but I don't think the angle is quite right for the estuary on the west side of Dow's. Lots of cool ducks and birds make their way through there.

The placement of the main hospital building and overall design approach remain consistent with the master site plan and the original Phase 4 site plan control approval."

I have been in and out of the Civic the last couple years for my self and a family member a new hospital is badly needed.

Looking at the first exterior render, I'm scared the colour and material choice will look like failed barcode design of the Faculty of Health Sciences building at Lees (which is pretty ugly)
