Here are the scenarios to have in mind now with that utility pipe being found (if it is actually an utility pipe)
Best case scenario:
If the pipe is no longer used and or needed, the operations slow down until a plan to remove it is created.
Then the project resumes after this slowdown.
Mid case case scenario:
If the utility pipe is used and still needed, it may be routed from it's original placement:
Option 1:Go deeper than the building foundation which will be cheaper and most practical solution because it will allow the building foundation to continue with it's original parking garage layout and design.
(perhaps the pipe can even go through the parking garage as any other utility pipe)
Option 2: Pipe would be routed outside the building foundation which means digging outside the building foundation in order to do so. This will be more costly, time consuming and has it' s obstacles.
Worse case scenario: (rare but possible)
The utility pipe will not be touched and this means that the building parking garage layout will change. Blueprints will be revised. Unit prices will have to change due to potential loss of property due to construction changes.
This means, that the parking spots and or bicycle racks and or storage rooms availability changes.
In all cases, the project will be further slowed on. These issues take a long time to resolve and affect some "important" people' s pockets.
Anyone knows or has pictures of this project from January 2026?
Any word about a construction permit? (Not a shoring permit!)
See my previous post about permits.
