It's hard to tell where it is. Is it placed for the Andaz expansion, the Hampton Inn (that wasn't approved, though I guess that's not a problem for Claridge), the tower on George or just the parking garage?

I'm confused as well, the area they dug seems to include all 3 (Hampton Inn, Andaz Condos, Andaz Hotel Extension) so I'm not sure what they're building.
I still can't create a new thread for the new tower, because we still don't have anything but a vague 10 year old render, and we still don't know exactly what they are building aside from possibly a glassy 23s tower. Very frustrating that Claridge can keep doing this.
Yeah, not super happy with how this is going. When they bought the rejected Hampton Inn site, they should have come up with a brand new proposal with improved urbanism. Best case is that the Hampton Inn site ends up being a treed pocket park to avoid a Great Wall of Rideauification.
Unbelievable that they can build something without a devapp. Corruption in plain sight.

Posted today:https://devapps.ottawa.ca/en/applications/D01-01-25-0009/details - Says it was received in March but only posted now. City seems to sit on things for a while so they meet statutory timelines once something is posted on Devapps.
So they are building the addition, up from 136 rooms to 154, and down from 19 floors to 17. This appears to be the full build out of the site after all.
It got the CharcWhite treatment.
FWIW, I don't hate it. This avoids the oppressive wall to wall issue we have on Rideau. If Claridge's uses nice materials (as they did with the last two projects), it could end up looking quite nice.
