Has anyone heard if they plan on doing renovations to the CTC as well know the new arena is still years away.

No word on what they might do with the CTC.

Cyril was on the Absolute Non Sens podcast to talk about the Palladium's planning and opening.

Not much about the new arena beyond being a year away from visiting other venues with architects and construction folks, so sounds like design of the new building is still far off.

I don't think they'll really think about what to do with the Palladium until shovels are in the ground for the new arena.

Andlauer was on a pod cast a month ago i found if far more interesting

I really hope they repurpose it into something that would be a huge addition for Ottawa. Honestly, an indoor waterpark would be a great addition and would be useful all year round. Any of these would be great:
  1. Indoor/Outdoor Theme Park or Indoor Water Park, could have a hotel component built right into the existing structure. Heck if we don't get an aquarium at Lebreton, then why not make this into an indoor theme park plus aquarium showcasing sustainability and all the local and global aquatic life here in the Ottawa valley and within Canada. They are very informative and very much help showcase why sustainability is important.
  2. "Winter City" Dome Park (like a tropical park aka a year-round, climate-controlled "tropical island" style dome park featuring a beach, indoor gardens, ponds, and walking paths)
  3. "Mini" City Centre/ Mixed-Use Live/Work Development (Residential units (apartments/townhomes) on the upper levels, with lower levels converted to retail, restaurants, and co-working spaces... retail mall to add on to Tanger with loads of residential on the top floors)
Anyways, I hope they find a good plan and purpose other than just leaving it as a dead zone and tearing it all down.

I would

I would love a theme park.

I always thought the DCDLS proposal for LeBreton, which had a whole bunch of random attractions in a wind swept plaza with a mal and a few residential towers would have been better suited for the Palladium Lands.
