Dude, I think you got a picture of my car in this shot (the black one in the intersection.. I can't tell for sure if it's me but I do go to that Maxi for groceries a lot!)
Is this the only thing that's allowed in Gatineau, these giant blockbusters with no podium?
I like the vertical banding. If an otherwise unremarkable slab needs shapes in the brick to break up the massing, I find this more tasteful than random crosses and rectangles.

As far as I know, there's no zoning rule that forces/encourages podiums, so developers maximize their lots.
