Office to Residential Conversions

495 Richmond converting to residential? Per random reddit comment:

"495 Richmond used to be full of government workers 3x a week but last month the owners of the building decided they were going to convert it to residential so all the office tenants left. That’s a large number of people not shopping/eating in the area anymore and it just happened to coincide with the parking meters. There are other factors at play here…"

For what its worth it seems they were recently advertising the office space but appear to have stopped that?
I won't speculate until I see a DevApps. This used to be owned by the Regional Government of Ottawa-Carleton, and the City of Ottawa sold it soon after amalgamation to rent out former Nortel space on Constellation (which in turn should be purchased for a song by the City soon).

I can confirm that 495 Richmond Road is in pre-consultation to convert from office to residential. The proponent is the Regional Group on behalf of DOV Capitol of Toronto

I'm a bit surprised. Hope they don't make too many changes on the outside as it's quite a nice building. Would love to see the rest of the parking go, however. The underground parking should be enough for residential.
