Baseline highrises near Experimental Farm approved by Ottawa city council

A win for housing with 1100 new units, but I am not looking forward to three enormous new classic RLA CharcWhites on one of the highest lots in the city. These will be extremely prominent.

Edit: just checked, the lot is 23 metres higher than the Little Italy cluster. The tallest tower will have a relative prominence of 125 metres to those buildings from a distance.

Hopefully the glass portions are prominent...kind of hard to tell from these renderings how it's going to look.

As far as I know this hasn't been approved yet , but I drove by today and the back parking lot is fenced off and there is a bunch of equipment on site . Does anyone know what is going on here ? I'm sure its unrelated to the towers proposal , just curious .

Not sure, but that is very interesting! They could definitely build that 24s tower without affecting the current strip mall.

I drive by this to work all the time, it is some heavy duty equipment in there and with guys working. I think it's a go for Tower A based off where they have it fenced.

The base of this one is 21m higher than the base of Icon, it should have a relative prominence of 99m compared to the Little Italy cluster across the farm.

Insane how the elevation here props these buildings so far up lol. The random tower growth sprinkled around the city is a bit crazy right now, but once all these proposed and approved towers go through, Ottawa is going to look very, very big. I'm honestly excited. These may not be the best, but that elevation is crazy.
