Ottawa's Skyline

That chonker (Claridge Royale) is so ugly in the distance. Looks like a huge tower. Also, what is this new blue ALMA sign on the towers across the street?
New branding for the student residence.

They actually found a way to make the ugliest facade in the city even uglier, those mad lads!

This one too. I don't remember where I got it, but Skyrise used part of it when they announced Skyrise Ottawa. I'd love a new version of this one once a year.

I love how 1040 Somerset is visible between the Terrasses towers. And really quite prominently too. You wouldn't guess it's two kilometers away, across a river in a different city!

These angles taken from "behind" Hull trip me up. Buildings that are aligned shouldn't be aligned, but of course, Hull's street grid is at an angle.

A trick to avoid traffic and lights in Downtown Ottawa is to cross the Alexandra Bridge to Hull, go down Laurier and cross back into Ottawa on Portage. Much shorter!

Molson Export's comment on SSP: "Ottawa's getting there. Just needs a few tallish signature towers..." Odenak and Renaissance should fit the bill. Can't wait to see this shot when those are completed.

A few more signature towers for other clusters are further out with the Westboro Curling Club site, Claridge's tower across from Icon. I wonder if Brigil's Catherine project will pop up from behind. I'm always a bit surprised Tribeca is so visible. The prosed tower on Metcalfe replacing the Commonwealth Building might overshadow it, or if the Place Bell parking garage is ever replaced (some musting in an OBJ article a while back).

Brigil will likely get their 45 and 30 in downtown Hull and that will supercharge this angle, they'll look enormous in the foreground with all that crazy density in the background.

Forgot about those. The Marriott will likely be hidden from this angle.

Here's a very rough approximation with Renaissance and Odenak.
