I guess the trucks will be against traffic and avoid the "heart" of Barrhaven. But when are we getting that ramp? Ford has a habit of promising some stuff for Ottawa and then never delivering.

It's not close and there is a ton of traffic on Prince of Wales from here south and north. This is just north of the Vimy Bridge and south of the Hunt Club bridge meaning It is fairly close to airport, are they going to be receiving a bunch of freight from YOW?

EDIT: I forgot they also built a traffic circle which are notoriously truck unfriendly on Prince of Wales AT Barnsdale so I doubt this will be the route.

It might be that angle too, it can receive freight from YOW easier. Not super close to Barnsdale, it would make more sense that this would be set closer to that highway.

They're working on it now. Based on David Hill, it's coming soon. Not the biggest Ford fan, but highway extensions are still things he shows up for.

This location for Amazon seems a bit odd to me? Not super close to the highways.. Fallowfield likely becomes their route to and from the 416.
I agree. But there are some logistical reasons why this is their chosen site. Canada Post's newest central distribution centre would be here, and it is away from conventional traffic. It might take an extra 10 minutes compared to the CitiGate location, but it is closer to YOW and it is closer to areas like Merivale. I can very much see a ping pong effect going on between both distribution hubs. Now that Amazon pulled out of Quebec, Ottawa is a really really important gateway for them to hit deliveries in Montreal, Gatineau, and honestly; the rest of Quebec.
