Now if we can redevelop the parking garage and remove truck traffic from Lowertown, this could be one of the great little corners of the city.

I'm going to add removing the Mackenzie King Bridge. Hasn't there been some talk of doing that in the recent past? It's such a blight and I can't see how it's necessary now the train is built. Sappers Bridge is the exact same distance to Laurier Bridge as Laurier Bridge is to Corktown bridge, so it would be fine for pedestrians. I'm pretty sure Rideau and Laurier could handle the extra traffic. I'm not sure how many remaining buses travel it, but I would think they could be rerouted without too much trouble. Connecting the NAC to Confederation Park would be epic, and the other side could be a linear park.

I don't hate that idea to be honest. Replace it with a pedestrian and cycling bridge half the width, with the deck between the Rideau Centre and DND HQ becoming a park.

That said, we're currently investing $25 million on rehabilitating the bridge and improving cycling and pedestrian experience. Doesn't beat a signature pedestrian/cycling bridge, but it's a huge improvement.

As for transit, I think the STO still uses it pretty regularly, and R1, though it's becoming rarer.

These are so massive (in a good way). I love what they add, not the tallest but sure as hell impactful.

I hope that area between this tower and Laurier can become way more street focused and becomes less of a wasteland. I'm hoping some more redevelopments come through. That DND building lot would be a great way to fix the ground level area if it goes up for redevelopment.

We need that Kettle Island Bridge to be able to fully rethink that stretch of Nicholas. Not sure what the chances are that DND will move out now that we've promised the 5% of GDP on defense funding.
