Just reviewed the budget and the expected reductions in the public service. Expecting a lot of it to happen in the NCR, I wonder how that will affect residential development in Ottawa and Gatineau.
The unions were expecting 77,000 cuts so by no means this that bad.I'm hoping it's not as drastic as we think. Looks like the cuts are over 3 years and they expect the vast majority of those cuts to be done by attrition and early retirement.
It will have little impact what will have a big impact is the defense sector.Just reviewed the budget and the expected reductions in the public service. Expecting a lot of it to happen in the NCR, I wonder how that will affect residential development in Ottawa and Gatineau.
Walked by today and this 16-unit infill project has started construction just behind the site where Whispers Pub is. But no sign yet that Whispers or the neighbouring buildings are being demolished to make way for the 9 storey building.

Definitely a step up in design compared to its neighbours! Are you able to share who the architect is?Here is a sneak peak of the 275 Rideau project (LCBO King Edward & Rideau) It is a major improvement from the first design. This is being proposed at 28 floors at 85m in height, L-Shaped tower with commercial space fronting Rideau St.

Wow, looks fantastic! Love the red brick podium, very classic 'Rideau Street'. That glassy facade is a just perfect to block out the blight wall of Claridge Royale with all it's stupid brick patterns. Here is a sneak peak of the 275 Rideau project (LCBO King Edward & Rideau) It is a major improvement from the first design. He's probably just pulling this off of ConstructConnect, so it should be fine to name the architect.Definitely a step up in design compared to its neighbours! Are you able to share who the architect is?

That’s not correct at all. I cannot name the architect at this point but you guys can put the math together and figure it out. If you don’t, it will be public shortly. He's probably just pulling this off of ConstructConnect, so it should be fine to name the architect.
I'm guessing Hobin. Looks like the evolution of their designs. That’s not correct at all. I cannot name the architect at this point but you guys can put the math together and figure it out. If you don’t, it will be public shortly.
