Renaissance Marriot / OROS Apartments | 395 Slater St. | 118m | 36s | Rimap | IBI+GeigerHuot | U/C

Wow, very little progress lately. This one probably won't achieve second tallest in Ottawa, I think Odenak will beat it.
At this point, I suspect Odenak will beat it by 6 months at least.

I do hope we get at least one more tallest in the CBD area with the Apple Tree site over the next few years, but that's unlikely.

The surface lot at Queen and Sparks is another chance at it. That lot must be eyed for development at this point.

That lot is smack down in the middle of the NCC view plane. so I have little hope we'll see anything taller than 20 floors (office) or 28 floors (residential). We don't have bold visionary developers like Campeau anymore challenging the status quo.

For sure, Dream will have their Cranes up earlier than Renaissance. Target for the crane here is mid December. Schedule wise as it is now, Dream will be topped off before the Renaissance.
Hi Bluejay. As of yesterday, it sounded like they were still blasting. Any idea when we can expect the crane at this point?

I presume kent / albert-queen
That's the one. It's part of the Place de Ville complex. Campeau wanted to build the next tallest tower in the 1980s, but the recession (and eventual bankruptcy) killed the project. About 20 years ago, there was a proposal for 16 and 18 floor (more or less) office towers.

Tower crane is scheduled to go up the weekend of March 22nd.
Great to hear! Probably won't see it rise until next year. Looking forward to it though.

Quiet in the hole today.

This one will rank #2 in a 'The Top of Ottawa' ranking of roof height by elevation, as I just determined using Google Earth

213m Icon
190m Marriot Renaissance
185m PDVC
183m Odenak
176m La Terrasses de la Chaudiere
